Trying to find a verse from the old testament, need help finding it.
I've lost my bible (just one more thing to be thankful for, I guess, ;)) but I remember reading a verse that, if I read it correctly, makes the gospels, in fact, the whole sacrifice of Jesus redundant.
It was something like, if you are a sinner, and you repent your ways to follow god, god will forget your past transgressions, but if you are a holy man and revert to selfish ways, you shall be cast into hell.
It was in the old testament, that I do remember, could anyone here enlighten me to that?

Unlikely, I remember first finding it in a children's bible.
I remember it saying something about God forgeting transgressions. Could you try it along those lines?

YES! I found it, Ezekiel 18: 21-24
"But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die. NNone of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live. Do I take pleasure in the death of the wicked? Declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable thins the wicked man does, will he live? none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has commited, he will die.

I Googled many different times different ways of that text and came up only with Psalms telling you how to confess to the Lord and John about Hell.

It might be the end of chapter 18 of Ezekiel:
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25 Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Yeah, I found it, that verse comes from the classcal interpretation, I found mine in a more plain english version (I've had it since I was five).

Reminds me of one of shakespeare's bawdy lines of prose.
It's not literal, you know, it's more of a similie really, it implies that she lusted after men with huge genetalia and massive loads.
It's always interesting to see how the culture of that time spills over into what should be a transcendental book.
