For too many people the words "Christianity" and "Christian" are synonymous with goodness. They are acceptable words in society.

These days we know that Christianity is nothing more than a powerful meme, a mental virus, and Christians are its carriers. We should rename it accordingly.

Here is my proposal. We call it MECHSIA.
It is an acronym: "Middle-Eastern Cult of Human Sacrifice from the Iron Age."
It sounds like an illness and we should use it accordingly: "Do you have Mechsia?"

This word carries within it a summary description of Christianity which is blunt, clear and UNacceptable. No journalist would defend human sacrifice. No mother would want their child going to a Mechsia holiday club. No hospital would want a quiet room dedicated to Mechsia. If this could be used widely, it would end the religion, IMHO.

With other conditions such as AIDS, Typhoid, Polio, the sufferer is not given a name, ie they are not described as a "Typhoidian". We say they have typhoid.
I suggest that sufferers of Mechsia should not be given a name. We should say they have Mechsia.

Alternatively, we could use "Mechsiac" -where the C stands for Carrier.

I'm under no illusions about difficult it would be to force a new word on the world. It's another meme and it either catches on or it doesn't.

What do people think?

Won't work. When little boys hear 'Mech-', they'll go crazy and ask one for Christmas.

I'd rather suggest Smoc (as in 'Slap My Other Cheek'). Sounds a bit like 'schmuck'. Because of that, I think it could become very trendy.
Not sure that "little boys loving it" is a well-thought out objection. But I did post this knowing that the chances of it flying were slim. It might provoke other suggestions.

It's a nice acronym though. Sounds like a disease, sums up the religion, and little boys love it.

Heh. Don't give my comments more importance than they deserve. ;-)
And where did these atheist/agnostic parents get their own moral values from? Religious education? Or do they consider themselves amoral? I just can't understand their reasoning.
I've been reading this guy's sermons. Unbelievable. He is out of his Jesus loving mind.
ROfuckingFL!!!! on the bottom video there is a gun set up in his desk so all can see it, i bet he is one of the people who go into abortion clinics and shoot them up. if i ever see him IRL id probably just knock him out
I noticed that. Seriously thinking about arming myself, because it's not a good idea for just crazy people to have guns. Don't want them taking over the asylum, you know.
They already outnumber us they're called conservatives.
LOL. I remember writing 'rationale' first, I found it inapropriate for the same reason, and decided to substitute it for something else. I should have used 'motives'.
I still hear some atheist or agnostic people claim that they send their kids to temple, or to church, or to Sunday school, because they worry that otherwise they will grow up being amoral. It drives me crazy!

These sound more like lapsed religionists than atheists or agnostics. Or maybe they're agnostics for the sake of convenience.
B-E-A-utiful!!! I've begun to use the term "intellectual inbreeding" (InIb) to describe the continuation of this fable called religion. Perhaps we can say a Mechsiac suffers from InIb, and pass laws forbidding Mechsiacs from marrying each other if they are "intellectually" related. This will prevent future generations from having genetic disorders which enable them to suffer (and fall afflicted with) Mechsia and solve the problem two-fold: the inevitable decline of Machsia and an increase in intelligence/rational capacity. What do you think?
Haha. I don't know about law-passing! I was aiming more for the whiff of uncleanness that would be attached to a Mechsia sufferer, the look of slight disdain they would then experience. Why would anyone want to be associated with human sacrifice nowadays? Who would want to commune with a carrier of Mechsia? [Your InIb is definitely one cause of Mechsia. But it can be caught in buildings called churches too. Or from watching too much gospel tv.]

I remember the days when Mechsia used to be called "Christianity" and people thought it was acceptable!
