I swear the older people (that I know @ least) the more religious they become.  I have just had yet another friend put some crap on Facebook about thanking 'god' for those people who have cancer and are in remission.  Why doesn't this all-powerful god just take all cancer away or not have let it start in the first place.  Do these people REALLY not think of these things or just not let themselves?  Last time I talked to this friend about religion she said she believed when you die you're just dead.  Now that she's passed the 50-mark she's suddenly a believer?  That's just wishful thinking. I'm probably going to end-up with literally my one in-real-life friend who's an Atheist because I can't keep my mouth shut about stupid, and they don't want to hear it.

Isn't that so sick Sentient?  I wonder what definition of 'christian' these people use to describe themselves.  The Jesus character in the bible wasn't even all that wonderful.  He certainly didn't have 'family values' whatever that means, since he said to leave your family and follow him.
It does seem that way for a lot of people. Like a plant growing itself into a slab of rock, the longer you leave it the harder it is to pull out.
Sometimes I think people get scared when they get older and start wanting there to be something?  I don't know.

I'm 48 and just de-converted. Hang in there, not everyone embraces religion when they grow older. I'm really glad I finally started thinking for myself. I just wish I'd done it about 30 years sooner! LOL!

Glad it happened for you Jon! :)
