The impact of vocalizing your atheist perspectives...

New to the site and excited to be a part of this forum! When the term "atheist" enters my world conversations ....I am tired of hearing a gasp of disbelief! I am tired of family that feels sorry for me and is so saddened by my perspective. I am tired of good friends that view me as intolerant based on their own ignorance of atheism. My peers at work think I am extreme and out of touch and I am tired of being told to be quiet ....WOW....how nice it is to discover this site and be amongst so many like minds!

Welcome!  I haven't been here long but it IS SO refreshing to have back-up when you talk about your Atheism!!!   It's nice to know there are MANY people who don't believe as you don't! lol ;)
