Permalink Reply by Loren Miller on August 4, 2012 at 8:49pm So they ran out of chicken. Serious question: what happened the day AFTER that? And the day after THAT?!?
Answer: more of the same ol' same ol', more than likely ... or maybe LESS. Fact is, CfA has taken a pretty serious hit as a result of Dan Cathy's flappin' his yap about gay marriage, and one day's massive sales is not going to help matters, mostly because, for the people who showed up on 1 August, it wasn't about anything Cathy said or stood for. It was about being SHEEPLE ... and following the crowd, like sheeple do.
I'd like to hope that because of Cathy's stupidity that, eventually, Chick-fil-A will collapse of its own stupid, bigoted weight ... but I'm not into making the kind of rash, preemptive ASSumptions that Cathy is given to.
And, to quote the Zen Master of Charlie Wilson's War: "We'll see..."

Martin on August 4, 2012 at 9:52pm The local media covered the Gomer Shuckabee anti-boycott and one station's six o'clock news carried comments by some of the demonstrators. A Tea Party type when asked why he supported Chic-Fil-A actually said that he has nothing against gays, but he thinks marriage is between one man and one woman. This is like saying, "I have nothing against fish but I don't like them to swim." For one thing, use of the word, "but" always makes a lie of what precedes it. For another, it is a concomitant remark to the saying so prevalent in Christer circles, "Love the sinner, hate the sin," since you cannot dislike what one does and simultaneously like the person who does it. I think that when the CFA franches ran out of chicken, they probably called up Colonel Sanders and asked if they could borrow some breasts. The employees at CFC responded: "This is a gag, right? We'll send 'em right over, soon as we can get the bras off."
