and I can't get a deduction for contributing to a church.  It's not that I have ever contributed to a church but I know many people who fudge the numbers on the claim a bit so it's not like they deserve it more than I do.  Other than ramdom venting I was wondering if there is a recognized atheist "church" that has a tax free status which has deductable contributions.

No need to ponder too much, I am just bored.  :)

Not likely. Any non-profit organization can apply for tax free donation status, and I am pretty sure these have it. Besides, the odds of being audited are less than 1/100 since the Bush Admin started pulling teeth over at the IRS - or whatever they are calling it now.
