The speakers' list is amazing! It includes: Richard Dawkins, PZ Myers, Peter Singer, AC Grayling, Dan Barker, Phillip Adams, Catherine Deveny, Taslima Nasrin, Russell Blackford, and many, many more. Don't miss this - it's going to be huge!
The event is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia. AN is lending a helping hand by 'lending me out' as media and communications consultant.
If you've always wanted to visit Australia, this is the time to come. Melbourne is an incredible, stylish and sophisticated city with unbelievable restaurants - and a beach as well! March is warm in Australia, so it's the perfect escape for those stuck in a northern winter!
The Convention is to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre - Australia's premiere convention venue - from 12-14 March 2010. We're expecting nearly 3000 delegates - the largest gathering of atheists in Australian history and one of the biggest atheist conventions ever!
Organizers have arranged special accommodation rates (up to 50% off) at some of Melbourne's finest hotels.
AN members - we need your support to make this event an astounding success. A gathering of this size sends a huge message to politicians and the Christian right that atheists are uniting and mobilizing politically.
Please make every effort to get to the Convention but, even if you can't, you can help by promoting it in your blog, on your website, by messaging or twittering for your friends. We need news about the convention to go viral on the net.

I'm staying at the Hilton, South Wharf, for $235 a night. You have to quote the Convention code to get this rate. Rack rate is over $500.
Victoria's View has found a good hotel at a more reasonable rate nearby. You could try contacting her to ask for more details.

It hardly seemed worth flying down for such an amazing event and then staying at a flea pit. I have a big jar in the kitchen and I keep chucking $20 and $50 notes into it. It's adding up!
