Requesting immediate back up.

There are two groups on facebook right now that have me distracted lately and any aid will be greatly appreciated.

The first group "Fuck Christianity" (admittedly could have been named better) is under attack. They have a clear disclaimer saying "This group is aimed at a belief/idea, not people. The purpose of this group is not to wage personal attacks towards christians (people). However, the actions of these people will be criticized/scrutinized along with a belief/idea (Christianity) that motivates them."

I read several of their discussions and as far as I can tell they don't name, names but simply vent their frustration for specificaly Cristianity but religion in general. As far as I read they use personal experience to rant and blow off steam. As expected they are under constant attack, one such example being from Faythe Lato "U will all perish in hell"

The other group being called "facebook should delete the group( Fuck Christianity)".
They don't have a discussion bored but one dosen't need one if they read the wall. Where the disclaimer was for "Fuck Christianity" they quote scripture "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made."

One of their recent comments was added by Martin Reinert " has the group F C not been deleted yet? If it has, this group should be closed too, as it is being used for non-beneficial-conversations not serving Jesus Christ." Clearly he cannot wait for this heresy to end so that he might find better ways to serve His "Lord".

They to have been under attack by atheist in the same way that they attack the other site. I am stuck in between my respect for all people and my devotion to freedom of speech and ask for any help in the matter.

There is also word that a national group called the "Anti-defermation League" is behind the anti group and other previous anti groups in the past. Any help in conferming that will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think they should be deleted, but rather have to change the name. It is a little bit of over-kill. It won't really solve the problem at hand, since it is just people trying to get rid of the counter-arguments. Instead of just calling it heresy, why not actually give a reason why it is wrong. It is a fallicious argument to say it is wrong, because it is wrong. Sadly, we have a lot of people around that do this same thing. Maybe we should find a Christian group and spam their comments with they will all be damned to [insert punishment of some other religion here]. I don't know. I'm just putting stuff out there and not posing a solution. What exactly are you asking for in the "Fuck Christianity" problem?

Hey Craig

From what I gather you have a problem with the issue of freedom of speech? Freedom of speech is just that, and my understanding is the only exception is hate speech (racism/anti-gay etc.) and defamation/slander (lies about a PERSON) [1].

So what we have here is a bunch of people blowing off steam, and personally my only problem is the that their colourful language shows atheists in a bad light, especially on a Facebook which is supposed to be kinda family-friendly. As an atheist/nontheist I find it problematic that I will be tarred with the same brush as these clearly immature hotheads; I try to be respectful to all persons at all times, and convince them with logic and reason when they spout non-sense. It doesn't work all the time, but at least I don't come off looking like an a--hole.

I think FB management would be remiss in deleting the group; however they are within their rights to request the owners to rename it. (imho)
