Some religious people get touchy when it comes to labeling people as animals. Which is kinda weird, because we eat, shit, sleep and reproduce like every other animal. The only difference is our intelligence and our complicated communication system of syntax and writing.

Isn't it a bit arrogant saying that humans are above animals? I mean I look at a dog and he has an extra sensory nose, good animalistic instincts, and are able to adapt to other situations better than a human. Will it be our arrogance will be our downfall when we do become extinct??

Depends on how you want to look at it. If we say we are animals then it kind of does suck the humanity out us as a species to a degree. If we say we are not then we are totally lying to ourselves in that was have no animal instincts or desires. The joy we sometimes feel from killing things, or sex, violence, anger and rage, these things are instinctive. As we progress as a species I think we learn better to control and harness them to the point where they do not override our actions and thoughts, but without them we would cease being human all together and become something else entirely. I would certainly argue it's one of the final steps in our evolution left to go.

"I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals." (Winston Churchill)
did you know that humans, many, are the only animals that do not properly stretch in the morning; I am sometimes guilty of this

; )
whats that?
And did you know that humans, for a yet unknown reason, sense the smell of cucumbers better than any other species known for reacting to it, including dogs?
