Over the years I have been disliking religion more and more, especially religious people because they are supporters of what is basically crime against humanity. One of these days I will put something on a church to criticize their nonsense.
I agree with all 57 of your reasons Dustin Roy. I have been disliking religion more and more for years also. I can't stand religion or religious crap anymore.
What do you mean put something on a church? You mean on a website? Or literally on a church? Sorry, I didn't understand what you meant in that sentence, but I agree with everything else you have said!
Yes literally on a church. The Catholic, Anglican and United churches were responsible for one of the biggest mass murders here in Canada. About 25 million people were killed by these sick bastards.
I agree booklover. Are religions getting worse or are we becoming less tolerant of them? I'm becoming an angry atheist in my old age. I don't want my g-kids learning this crap and I no longer find any redeeming value in religion. It seems the bad far exceeds the good.
Yes you are right. Governments would be better than countries.
Yes I agree - you could write a book on why religion is bad.
One correction I'd like to offer:
Religion does not adapt WILLINGLY. It DOES adapt ... grudgingly and slow as an arthritic glacier, but it does adapt ... generally when it has no other choice.
I didn't see adaptation on this list, Loren. Which one, exactly, are you correcting?
Hmph ... would have SWORN I saw something about religion not adapting or changing.
[Loren grumbles about his eyeglasses prescription...]
On religion justifying slavery, just last night I saw a female church pastor in a documentary claiming that slavery in the old south was justified because the African slaves "were better off than they would have been in their own country." WTF?
There are still frigging morons like this around. It's easier to say this crap than to claim your bible was wrong.
People can use the bible to justify just about anything. Perhaps that's one reason why it's remained in circulation for these two millennia.
Any book that requires "interpretation" and is sufficiently vague in places to allow for multiple and sometimes contradictory takes on what it says is going to qualify pretty well, Cat ... and it's more than clear that this is EXACTLY what has happened with the bible.
