Major Ron Paul Supporter Favors Death Penalty for Gays
Ron Paul "had won the endorsement of Rev. Phillip G. Kayser, a prominent right-wing Nebraska pastor,..."The campaign issued a press release on Wednesday, lauding Kayser and trumpeting his endorsement, citing"the enlightening statements he makes on how Ron Paul's approach to government is consistent with Christian beliefs." Then came word of Kayser's "Christian belief" in applying the death penalty for gay male sex, ..."
What reporters Pema Levy and Benjy Sarlin of TPM uncovered when they scrolled through Kayser's writings on his Web site, Biblical Blueprints, were not simply the rantings of a random fringe preacher, but a "blueprint" for the philosophy of Christian Reconstructionism, which seeks to make manifest biblical law as the law of the land. That would include the death penalty not only for the practice of sex between men, but also for adultery and insubordination by children. [emphasis mine]
If Ron Paul became president, would Christian Reconstructionists head up the FBI to enforce the death penalty for all LGBT and adultrous adults, and all insubordinate children? After they wiped out most of our citizenry, who would be left? This would be funny if US politics didn't take Ron Paul seriously.
In The Nation [Dec 12, 2011], Eric Alterman points to an underlying problem,
... the tendency of even the most sophisticated political reporters to treat the entire porcess as a contest between rival teams and ignore the substance of their arguments and policies, as if politics were simply a spectator sport...
That extremist right wing candidates are treated as serious presidential contenders whose opinions deserve respect by reliable media outlets, until they go so far, exposes our political discourse as a sham.

Permalink Reply by Smiley Courtney on December 30, 2011 at 2:59pm Take a look at what Ron Paul himself says, not the rantings of lunatics like Kayser. Ron Paul is the best chance for liberty ANYONE has, but especially atheists, since he supports strict constitutionalism. That includes the separation of church and state.
We atheists know better than to believe unsupported claims without critical thought!

Anti-LBGT: Ron Paul Proposed Family Protection Act with Anti-gay Provision (HR-7955) introduced in 1980: Title V: Domestic Partnerships
“Prohibits the expenditure of Federal funds to any organization which presents male or female homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life style or which suggest that it can be an acceptable life style.”

Anti-LGBT: Ron Paul introduced Anti-Gay Marriage Protection Act (2004):
“Mr. Speaker, as an original cosponsor of the Marriage Protection Act (HR 3313), I strongly urge my colleagues to support this bill. HR 3313 ensures federal courts will not undermine any state laws regulating marriage by forcing a state to recognize same-sex marriage licenses issued in another state.”

Ron Paul on Separation of Church and State ‘Myth’ – “The War on Religion”
In His Own Words (Posted at LewRockwell.com) – Dec. 2003:
“The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers. On the contrary, our Founders' political views were strongly informed by their religious beliefs. Certainly the drafters of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, both replete with references to God, would be aghast at the federal government's hostility to religion. The establishment clause of the First Amendment was simply intended to forbid the creation of an official state church like the Church of England, not to drive religion out of public life.
The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance. Throughout our nation's history, churches have done what no government can ever do, namely teach morality and civility. Moral and civil individuals are largely governed by their own sense of right and wrong, and hence have little need for external government. This is the real reason the collectivist Left hates religion: Churches as institutions compete with the state for the people's allegiance, and many devout people put their faith in God before their faith in the state. Knowing this, the secularists wage an ongoing war against religion, chipping away bit by bit at our nation's Christian heritage.”

[VIDEO] Ron Paul’s Full Speech at the Christian Fundamentalist Values Voter Summit 2011
Paul won the straw poll. Note the organizers listed on the screen behind him: Liberty Council, American Family Association, Family Research Council, American Values, Liberty University – the entire Christian Reconstructionist crew all gathered together under one roof.
Listen to ALL of it. Paul says that government has no place in education and that the responsibility for educating children should fall solely to the family. Reiterates elimination of the Dept. of Education.

Ron Paul [Election 2012] Hires Christian Right Political Activist with American Family Association for Church Outreach:
“ Paul has brought several Christian conservatives onto his campaign in an ambitious effort to reach believers for his cause. Michael Heath, the campaign's Iowa director, previously worked for a New England-based group called the Christian Civic League of Maine that fought against adding sexual orientation to the state's Human Rights Act.
The national campaign has tasked Heath with leading church outreach in Iowa, where for months he has met with pastors and Christian congregations. "That's the biggest part of what I'm doing as state director," Heath told Yahoo News after a day of knocking on church doors with campaign literature. ‘Going to churches with a message in support of Dr. Paul's campaign that is very much faith-based and is also rooted in his commitment to a constitutionally defined limited federal government.’”

Ron Paul Anti-Union/Workers’ Rights:
“When it comes to organized labor, Ron Paul seems to think that union activities violate the constitutional rights of employers. He boasts on his website about taking the side of big business in every modern legislative fight between unions and employers - opposing card check and the Employee Free Choice Act, supporting the so-called “Truth in Employment Act” and misnamed ‘right to work’ laws, which lower wages and worsen work conditions. In December of 2011, Paul said he is opposed to the existence of the National Labor Relations Board, even in its weakened condition.”

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).
THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
