I came across this infinitely stupid cut&paste spiel on someone's profile on another site, so of course I had to post it here.  It was too ridiculous - I couldn't resist!

Love vs. Sex

A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."

Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone.

Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?

Repost this as Love vs. Sex if you truly believe in God.

PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what...and if you stand up for him he will stand up for you.

If you believe in Jesus Christ put this in your profile and don't just ignore this, because in the Bible it says: "If you deny me, I will deny you in front of my Father in the gates of Heaven."

There is so much wrong with this that I can't even--  My mind is blown.  To smithereens.  I'll be picking up pieces of my own brain meats off the floor for days.  I especially love how it ends by reminding you that Jesus is so loving that he'll condemn you to eternal hellfire if you ignore him.  Wow, talk about being a needy, attention-grabbing douchenozzle!

Oh good grief!!!!! My gag reflex is working overtime.

Almost surely a made-up story.

It's dangerous advice, to suggest women to ignore their perception of risk in the name of faith.

"Here, come this way.  Walk into this burning building.  You'll be safe as long as you have faith."

A surefire way to get rid of fundies? :D

Didn't there use to be a preacher who said snakebites couldn't harm him because of his belief in god?  And then he died from snake poison.

Yeah, way off base.

You would be surprised how many fundy preachers would tell this tale from behind the pulpit and before long there is not a dry eye in the house! Everyone is hysterical saying "oh, god" with hands up in the air and crying like babies, waving back and forth and saying "jesus, jesus." The above story had nothing to do with the scripture that the preacher read beforehand, and the next day everyone is still talking about it. The holy goat really fell last night, they say.

The story really does have a gag reflex, Patricia. Someone will tell you to send it to a cancer patient. If you believe send it to everyone you know. Send it around the world twice. Give it to the grocery store for double stamps on Tuesday.

The list goes on and on.

I did the cancer thing, & I went the route of doctors, surgery, treatment, & continue with follow up. No preacher, church, praying, or faith had any place in my life, before or now. What a useless & dangerous waste of precious time!

OK, this is her claim. Can she provide more than her story? Is there other evidence, a police report, etc. If others use her method of self-protection they may not have the same results. If they believe her, they may take risks they otherwise would not take. If she is delusional, it needs to be exposed. If a police officer or judge can verify what the man said, that could make her feel more safe, but it surely is not enough reason to believe or trust her.  Good old common sense has more credibility.

What about all those who did pray and who did get raped? Do we hear their stories?

Dogly and Joan have both replied very well. Mathew T., we have to assume that Jebus did not protect the other girl because her faith was insufficient. This makes the believers want to get into god and the buybull without question. The answer as to why this all happened remains "keep your eyes on Jebus" and also "god works in mysterious ways."

The church world says that god loves everybody the same, but the reality of events says otherwise. The faithful If raped pray more, dig deeply into their buybull, and wonder what they were doing wrong.

This is why I can no longer believe in such a fuct up system. Ad the fact that Genesis does not prove god, and the whole buybull is fuct. If Genesis does not prove god, then where is the faith of all those that claim to believe in god? What is that "faith" based on? Without your buybull you have no god!

Anyone want to believe in Thor?

Clearly her god could have protected the other girl too.  Instead, he hung around for 20 minutes to watch her get raped.  If he were real I'd beat the crap out of him!

I very highly and very seriously doubt it is any real person's claim. And is nothing more than a completely fictional, bucket of BS, made up story by some used piece of arm waving and tambourine banging asswipe who wants to get everyone to "Loves Them Some Jesus." The anonymous author telling this story about an anonymous girl, in a State and town with no name, and not even an approximate date on a calendar, sounds similar to the fictional emails about politicians, bumbling government bureaucrats, and ever so horrid outrages with titles like "Every American MUST Read This" that unfortunately clog up our inboxes from the sincere and well meaning, but nevertheless gullible idiots we all know.  This has as much to do with reality as Bozo the Clown being NASA's newest underwater astronaut.

What? Bozo is still working? I need to email all my friends right away!

When they cancelled his show, I heard he was working as a bouncer at a strip club in the seedier part of 'Vegas. But he's working his way back.
