Permalink Reply by MADHUKAR KULKARNI on November 19, 2011 at 10:57am We should teach our children only what the truth is and truth alone. Children are not going to be dependent on us forever. The world outside the home is also a big educator and eventually they are going to realise the truth. In any case, we have no business to tell them what is not true. Atheism tells us what is a fact and there need not be any doubt about why we should not guide our children to be atheists. Remember, millions of theists indoctrinate their children by falsehood, then why not we tell our children the truth?

Permalink Reply by Jerry Wesner on November 19, 2011 at 11:38am We teach them to ask questions like "Why?" and "Who says?" and "Upon what, pray tell, to you base that assumption?????" We teach them to analyze ideas presented as fact, and see if they hold water. We teach them to check sources and ask for explanations. We teach them to question authority, even our own. We engage them in discussion and informal debate. And, often, we shut up and listen to them.
