New to the forum
I was born a Jehovah's Witness, for 30 years I did not peruse higher education because the end of the world was close at hand. When raised in a cult you believe what you are told. Mom and dad are always right, right? Wrong. Any way. I moved to Hot Springs a couple of years ago and am thinking of selling and moving to Wichita, where I have family. My wife’s family and much of my family does not have much to do with us because we left the cult. JWs do not let their members associate with family members who do not believe and especially if you have once been a baptized cult member. I now work to tell any one who sill listen about the danger of the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses. Any ways I hope to have some good conversations here.

Welcome edteach. You will find yourself in good company. Some of us never been religious, others are still in the closet. A few times I read someting from people whom they are not even out to thier spouses.

Thanks. I could have lived an much easer life if I would have just faked being what I am not. I can not believed as Bill Mahr puts it in talking snakes or any other myth for that mater. I am lucky in that my wife did not take the side of the cult, which is usualy the case more times than not in the JW cult. They are one of the most controling cults in the world today. Much like Scientology.

I did not realize they were as controlling as Scientology!
That's an eye opener. I had a really good friend,who has since moved away who was a jw...She mentioned it twice in all the years I knew her and never tried to convert me.
She said it was obvious I had no interest in the subject,which was true.
