i don't think so because "allah o akbar" is very popular phrase among both Shia and Sonis in fact they both repeated it many times during their daily praying s(all Muslims Shia or sunnies Arabor, Persian or ... do their praying in Arabic) and they have no differences about it.[Most Arabs in Iraq are shia] . what i meant in my last reply was a lingual subject and i meant this phrase can have different interpretations depends on who say it specially when speaker's language is not Arabic it can get some other meaning loads too.
Are Islamic people reactionary in religious matters? I am reminded of the famous Sufi saint, a favorite person of mine (I mean it!), Mansur al-Hallaj, imprisoned, drawn, quartered, and burned just for saying "Ana-I-haqq" (I am Truth). Like Joan d'Arc, he was tortured and slaughtered, yet years later canonized as a saint. When will we ever learn?
In "ana l hagh" hagh doesn't only mean truth it s a property and a name of God too. the more accurate translation of this sentence is i am God(a part of god) or i have u been united with god or sank in god . what you have mentioned here is a long fight between two tendency among Muslims 1 Sufism and irfan and theosophy 2 some rough clerics and mullah's tendency who just want to run Islamic laws and just see the form and face of the laws . as i know even now both sides have its own followers (at least here in Iran )
If Massignon is authoritative (and, at two large volumes, he ought to be), the actual cause of Mansur's downfall was betrayal by a person who was either jealous of him or hated the company he kept. Massignon goes to lengths to discuss Mansur's involvement with certain, as he puts it, "invert" groups, by which of course he means homosexual. Shariah says this is a no no, just as does the Talmud and the N.T. I am *not* saying that this was the "only" reason Mansur met his end, only that it was a factor.
I don't know very much about Mansour's life most of my information about him is from a lesson in our literature text book in school . that lesson was an old text written By historian Naser Khosro . he had described his death in that text . according that text there was some jealousy and competition too but their main excuse to execute him was apostasy (ana l hagh)
if you really in the below interested in i recommend you to read that part of Naser khosro book (safarname). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasir_Khusraw
