More biblical zombies

I only became aware of this today As a christian for many years I never heard this part of the scriptures mentioned in church. They did the death of Jesus and resurrection of Jesus but never ever mentioned that a whole heap of other people also rose from their graves and wandered the streets !!!!!

Matthew 27:50-53 (King James Version)

⁵⁰Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

⁵¹And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

⁵²And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

⁵³And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

I think I know the reason.

I once accompanied a school trip to a church for a lesson on Easter so we covered Jesus's birth and resurrection.

Just prior to the 'service' once all the arts and crafts and colouring had concluded, I took a moment to ask the Vicar/pastor/ bloke in a smock - which of the gospels he'd be using: and he said, I shall never forget it: "Oh I'll just give them the highlights."

Yes, it's very easy to edit out the awkward bits if when you retell the story you include only the bits you think they need hear.
