I have wondered for years if there is a correlation between atheism and left or right hemispherical dominance in the brain. I am right brained, (and left handed) 11/5. You can take the test yourself to determine your dominant side.

I know the right brain is visually, emotionally, and creatively motivated and the left is logical, systematic, and mathamatical. I would like to know if there is a predominance of one side over the other in atheism.

I guess that means I'm relatively "balanced"?
It's actually the other way around. The right brain is creative, the left is calculated. Also, I am left brained.
Oops! I typed that wrong!! There I go, being right brained and impulsive! Now I feel stupid!
There, I fixed it! Thanks for pointing out my mistake Jack! That was a very calculated and timely response! LOL

Hrm.
Here I am.
I'm also left handed,artistic and a musician.

Left Brain Dominance: 4(4)
Right Brain Dominance: 13(13)
Wow! You may be more impulsive than I am! LOL!
Interesting!

I scored 10/10 - exactly the same for both hemispheres.

Why this is so interesting is that I write with my left hand, play guitar and recorder with my left hand, but do everything else with my right hand. I can paint with both hands.

I believe I was probably ambidextrous as a child, until a teacher tried to force me to use my right hand by hitting me across the head with a Bible. I dug my heels in and then refused to write with my right hand at all.
It is probably the teachers fault that you ended up so evenly balanced! Ha! Ambidexterity is an advantage of course, in event of an injury.

I suppose there would be more left handed people if it were not for society , in the past, trying to force conformity by us southpaws! It was not only practiced by educators. The manufacturing sector definitely tailor makes products for right handers. Look at scissors!
Ambidextrous people should really be called ambisenestrous. Only a tiny percentage are as dextrous with both hands than anyone else usually are with their main hand.
In third grade a teacher tried to force me to be right handed,I told my mother...She went to the school for a little talk.
She left me alone after that.

I play the hammer dulcimer left handed, the mandolin right handed.
I write, work a mouse, etc. left handed. I never reversed the buttons on the mouse though.
I used to try to become ambidextrous by writing some things with my left hand.

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
