Ok, now that I've got your attention...

I've been thinking about ways in which the Bible reflects outdated moral codes - this is somewhat peripheral, but might be good for a laugh:

Here's God's 'no cross-dressing' edict:
A woman shall not wear a man’s apparel, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does such things is abhorrent
to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy: XXII/5)

How, precisely, does one define man’s and woman’s apparel, particularly when today’s clothing differs considerably from that usual 2000 years ago? Are
trousers man’s apparel, and hairbands woman’s? In which case, several
prominent male Christian athletes might be in trouble…

Oh, haven't you heard? Christians don't have to follow Old Testament laws except the moral laws like the 10 Commandments. ::rolleyes::

Of course, if you disagree, it is because you are taking it out of context.

hmmm... convenient!
I think it's only considered the other gender's apparel if it's borrowed. XD If it's brand new, then it hasn't been assigned a gender yet. >.> I'm still waiting to be stoned to death for my preference for men's cargo jeans, otherwise.
I literally lol'd at this XD. What if the men's tshirt section has funnier quotes than the women's? I think I'll be a martyr for funny apparel =D
I prefer men's shoes...it's hard to find women's that aren't all flimsy and pinchy and hurty...
According to physical laws it would be the very essence of flimsy... 200 lbs spread over 10 flat sq in plus 30 contour sq in versus 200lbs spread over 4 sq in flat and 5 sq in contour. Flimsy does equal pain.

Simple physics indeed !
Someone wasn't thinking too far ahead when he wrote that. :>
Agreed
Men's apparel in various time periods: kilts, high heels, stockings, big curly wigs, wraparound skirts (India), tunics, togas...
Too freaking true!
yeah - didn't guys wear robes in those days? so probably not too far off women's clothing anyway. i think the bible needs like a fashion catalogue section, with clear, illustrated 'menswear' and 'womenswear' guides... you could do a mail order tie-in...
It's just another cherry-picked bit of scripture that's used by fundie men to control yet another aspect of women's lives. The only time I'm not wearing jeans is in the summer.....when I'm wearing shorts.
