This story really inspired me. Almost felt compelled to reach out to the family to find out if Mr. Landsberg was a believer or non-believer, but I figured that would be somewhat disrespectful.
One thing is for sure: He definitely believed in the value of empiricism and the scientific method of inquiry.
Hopefully, his heroic efforts on that day back in 1980 will lead to the saving of lives in future natural disasters of this nature.
