Lovely ... hits over her kidneys ... renal failure, anyone?  [not that her torturers care...]

Have you got a source for this? Otherwise it's just an unpleasant picture of a woman who has been beaten.

I think either DailyBeast or HuffPost. Or a re-post from Facebook for all I can remember.

She was beaten for being a lesbian. Just as barbaric.

Well of course she would have been beaten for being a lesbian: same sex oriented people are mostly out of the baby business (unless they adopt) and cannot be a part of one's harem. Men make all the rules in Islam and Shariah condemns women to a lifetime of being only slightly more worthless than fundamentalist Xian women ("helpmates").  When you stop and think about it, this is why Mitt is against the equal pay act. Or is he?  With Mitt it will depend on whether he has talked to his handlers.

At the risk of causing incident, Iran usually declares atheists mentally unfit, puts a straight jacket on them, inject them with drugs, and toss them in a padded room till they say they are muslim, then they are declared to have recovered mentally. Personally, I think any atheist in the middle east who comes out into the open should be hospitalized, as it's practically a suicide by proxy attempt. It might be ridiculous to believe in fairy tales, but it is even more ridiculous to declare yourself a non-believer when a religion has executive power.

These are the same things Stalin did to Russians who spoke out against his brand of communism.  That, and pushing them out windows and claiming suicide.

Sadly, the only thing that can be done is people risking their lives and setting up safe-houses, maybe some sort of program where gay men can enter a mock marriage with a lesbian, it's far from ideal but we really don't have many other options.
