What a speaker this kid is! He could move a heart of stone. Unfortunately, Iowa's very Christian legislature has harder hearts than that.
On Feb.1, the Iowa House of Representatives voted 62-37 in favor of Joint Resolution 6, an amendment which would prohibit currently legal same-sex marriages. The vote was taken after hearings which featured speakers on both sides of the issue, including a remarkable young man named Zach Wahls. Wahls, a 19-year old Iowa college student, was raised by same sex parents.
