I just saw this interesting slant on the "we've always done it that way" topic, which I've always felt was relevant to the tradition aspect of religion.

Permalink Reply by Ronin on August 20, 2011 at 1:44pm I find it odd that a majority of test subjects repeated the steps of test A to solve test B when it was obviously the more complex solution. On the other hand I do know some people who go through some incredible, to me, gymnastics to complete relatively simple tasks, like cleaning the house or driving home. One observation I have made over the years is that cultures with very strong traditional morays tend to eschew simpler solutions.
