How do you explain magic (Satan and Jin)? My question does not concern individual cases because i know some people suffer from psychological problems, I am asking about how a number of people can see magic happen in front on them? And how does the magician or psychic get to know things in the future or things that happened in the past that no one knows? For example, when people are robbed they go to one of those people and they can reveal the thieves and tell their names and motives. Please let me know if you have any sort of explanation to this.

Explain magic?  Two words: James Randi.

James Randi is a stage magician, skeptic, atheist and semi-professional woo debunker.  Randi was, in fact, the man who pulled the pants down on pseudo-psychic Uri Geller.  For several decades, he has had a public challenge out for anyone who purports to be capable of any form of paranormal ability to demonstrate it under controlled conditions.  The prize if someone can do it?  $1 million.  To date, the prize remains unclaimed.

Randi understands the tricks of the magician's trade which many people use to carry out paranormal scams and thus far, that's all that has been presented to him.  Anecdotal events don't cut it.  Either someone can demonstrate an event which utterly violates the laws of physics and nature in a disciplined laboratory environment and under close scrutiny, or they're just one more fraud who deserves to be exposed.

I live in a community where many people practice "magic" both as a matter of life affairs and sometimes even as profession. My observations are that, when done effectively, magic is just home-brewed psychology!

Beyond that, explaining the magic does tend to involve knowing the specific magical act being performed.

For example...

...Magicians and psychics tend to be people who are well trained in specific aspects of human psychology. Magicians tend to be slight-of-hand experts who have been well-trained in the art of distraction and taking advantage of the way the human eye & mind focus on things.

...Psychics tend to be top-grade "people watchers," who are excellent at using conversational cues and detective-like observations for picking out information about a person. Bad ones use this for con-artistry, good ones use these skills similar to a therapist or counselor.

...House magic and divination as performed by people on their own tends to function similar as prayer, and is basically a psychological "hack" to help the mind reframe and/or focus on its goals. It's not that it's changing the material, external nature of the universe any, it's that its effecting the magic practitioner -- either by helping them meditate on a problem or ritualizing a state of objectivity that helps them get a different view on an issue on their lives.

...And of course some of it's just pure luck and randomness! In a community where people are looking for magic, they tend to find it by reading a bit too much into a particular incident than is really there. Or by not giving due credit to the wisdoms of their own unconscious -- for those folks who have "funny feelings" that turn out to be correct.

How do you explain magic?

The words "It doesn't exist" normally suffices.

Exactly Dallas. There is no magic.

I agree!  The Human Brain is a powerful Machine.  With it you can see anything you want to, including nonsense.

Steph beat me to it, but I'll say it again.  Exactly.  It doesn't exist.

delusion |diˈlo͞oZHən|

noun

an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder: the delusion of being watched.

• the action of deluding someone or the state of being deluded: what a capacity television has for delusion.

My thoughts are along the same wavelength as Dallas. I have to ask you, what magic? You ask how it is explained, but how do you explain what does not exist? That would be like asking "how do you explain unicorns?"

Cases of "magic" are usually simple deceptions, slight of the hand and such. Parlor tricks, if you will. That is all. With careful empirical observation, such tricks can be seen for what they are.

Psychics and so-called seers are similar. They work with what they are given, information wise. They are simply very discerning, nothing more. What they usually have going for is the belief within the people that go to see them. They can usually assume that their clients are coming to them because they believe that psychic powers are real, or at least are curious enough to be easily deceived. So, what they do is throw a general statement out there such as.... oh, I don't know... "I sense you've had a very difficult past" or something like that. If the person bites, they tend to gush a little bit from the surprise (or gullability). A lot of people gush too much from such a general comment, in this instance for example the client could elaborate, "omg yes! I was actually abused for much of my childhood." From that it just keeps snowballing. The psychic can discern from careful observation of tones in the voice, body posture, eye movements and the like who was the most plausible person who abused the client, and then guess it.

And so on and so forth. It's psychology really, not much more.

That was my first thought Sara.  What magic?

Thanks all for replying
as i said before I don't believe in magic but I am sure there is an hidden issue which psychic they can use it ,
I got an answer from a friend but it is not scientific as I want , he told me that there are things we took it by inheritance through the stages of development from our past animal world like telepathy to know information from far places and he give me examples like the animals in the zoo make noise when they feel by earthquakes , they have something like a natural sensor and those who have supernatural can use they sensors as well

Regards

"... like the animals in the zoo make noise when they feel by earthquakes,..."
