Many Christians say that God does not intervene in matters of free will. Yet, several times in the early chapters of Exodus (Ex. 9:7, 10:20, for instance), it says that "the Lord hardened pharoah's heart". Can anyone offer an explaination of these versus that does not conflict with the idea of free will?

Free will in the biblical sense is a comical concept in that we are free to choose but if we do not choose exactly as it is written, we reap eternal damnation and hell fire. Yet another good reason to laugh at the whole god concept - Cliff.
