This is a terrific interview!  The interviewer is actually NEUTRAL for a change, and she draws out some great points from Faircloth and Dawkins.  Both of them assert that the secular community (that includes US, people!) need to come together and organize in opposition to the Religious Reich, which is already VERY organized, and give politicians a alternative view of how Americans see our country and what we want it to be.

Good stuff, Richard!  Thanks for posting this!

Excellent. Listened to it over coffee this morning. I was glad to hear of the large turnout they spoke of in Eastern Kentucky. There are more of us than meets they eye, and the more we come out, the stronger we become.

...Unless we become complacent. We have had two big "coalition" type public events in the span of a week, time to pick up the pace.

It's time to join a group, time for the groups to cooperate and form alliances, time to donate to folks like the FFRF and AA and so on. This is more important now than before, let's not piss away the momentum.

My AA renewal fees aren't due until August of this year, and I just got my FFRF paper in the mail last night.  I hear ya'!

I went way over budget on donations in the last couple of weeks, next pay check probably the same. I'm buying all my books through the Atheist Nexus Amazon link as well.

Unless you mean the SFF, if so… Todd Stiefel gives so much to so many secular organizations, I doubt they could even begin to list how many. This is my favorite atheist non-profit group, Mr. Stiefel is an amazing guy, a true philanthropist.

in elections.. now that's how Hilter got in along with fear mongering on wealth etc.. or lack of.. because of.. ah do the math. Socialism is doable in 2012 (you know accountability ability) not 212.

The GOP is terrified of having any voters other than the Cemetary Village members who vote for them.  The young are not brainwashed by their rhetoric....

Sooooo, lemme get this straight...  We've got a group of children who will not trouble themselves to register to vote, let alone actually vote, unless a guiding adult takes them by the hand, provides the forms, oversee their completion, gathers them up and delivers them to the proper authorities.
Those solicitous adults feel that to follow the rules regarding third party registration drives is somehow unfair and that they cannot meet the standards.    They are indignant and fearful the children will not therefore BE registered to vote, as opposed to getting themselves registered, and pin the problem on standards they will not comport with rather than the indifferent children who really don't care if they are registered or not. And they call themselves the childrens' "educators".
I say if the kids, or anyone else, cannot bother to get registered to vote in the many months leading to an election cycle in this age of "motor voter" and 100 ways to sign up, then THANK GOD they will not be voting.  They obviously do not care about larger affairs and can reasonably be assumed to be clueless on those issues so it's healthier for our republic if they sit out the elections.
