I've reported this problem twice and it didn't get fixed and I haven't heard any feedback on it. When using Firefox my left side menu headings on the My Settings page are on top of one another. There is also HTML code showing--the code for a space, which is
This would appears to be a theme problem that perhaps only shows up in Firefox. Has anyone else had this problem?
Tell me where I can access the CSS and I'll fix it myself.
That's interesting, then it's probably universal. Why isn't anyone fixing it? Here's the problem piece of page code (I've modified it so it doesn't work within this message):
ul class="left page_tickers">
li class="this">Profile
The "class" there links to format controls in a separate CSS file and it probably determines the width of the menu box. Then you see the second < li > is overlong. That is wrappring around and covering up other menu items. It looks like the FAQ and Site Rules links were not done properly and are now screwing up the menu.
Thanks for the reply! Perhaps a ticketing system would help, if Ning allows it, so that at least people get some acknowledgement that their problem has been registered.
I will now demonstrate my patience. However, I am aware the offending code, from the look of it, would only take a couple of minutes to fix (or less, if it were on any of the sites I manage).
I have the same problem and I'm using IE8. I've never really had issue with it other than being a little bothered by the minor untidiness. I'm not sure you can fix it yourself by accessing the CSS if everyone is having the same problem.
You're right, it's not a CSS issue, though if the CSS file/s were changed it would actually affect everyone. I'd original thought it was CSS formating but that was before looking at the code itself. Someone hasn't formated the links properly in the code, or in the back end admin, and instead put in this (I modified it slightly so it appears in full here):
Which is just one long link (that wraps to take up several lines) to the privacy settings page. It's a simple fix and I guess they'll get around to it eventually.
At last! I contacted the Ning support center and they are now aware of the problem.
Here's the reply I got:
Thanks for contacting the Ning Help Center about this issue. I looked into your issue and I see exactly what you're talking about. I'm going to pass this message on to one of our developers who should be able to determine the cause. We'll get back to you as soon as we've gotten to the bottom of this!
From the article Tommy cited.
"However, religious commentators have criticized Hawking's theorizing, saying he can never hope to explain what is essentially unexplainable."
Well doesn't that kind of invalidate their own "god" theory then? ;p
Anybody else read it? I love the basic premise, and being an atheist means I can appreciate the mythology and not get bent out of shape about the multiple deities.
Wyoming is better than the southeast, from what I've seen. It's still a solid red state, though. My big point was that there are no cities. The closest it has are Cheyenne and Casper, each of which are around 50,000 people.
The entire state barely…
