Favorite Bible Verses to use against Xtians

I have seen a bunch of people quoting the bible to show the absurdity of the "moral teaching" that comes from it. I was looking to start a thread as a starting point.

Great. I was just thinking of doing the same thing yesterday and was looking at one of the member's photo collection and thought of it. I would rather have text then photos, though, so I can put them all in a file. I would love to have a dozen or more such quotes.

Psalm119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

This is handy when xians say that another passage isn't literal but should be seen a symbolic. It is also useful when they try to justify not following the OT laws.

"Whosoever shall say 'Thou fool' shall be in danger of hell fire" - Matthew 5:22 As a response to the annoying verse of "The fool has said in his heart there is no God" which they like to use to just "discredit" or ignore you.


”A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thoughts to his steps.” (Proverbs 14:15, NIV) - When they claim that they believe on faith & that's all you need.

Jesus, at some point in the biblical gospels, called people "fools" and possibly hypocrites, so I guess he's going to hell, too. I like to point that out.

They'd probably argue that Jesus did go to Hell for 3 days after being crucified, which is part of the whole atonement for original sin thing.

It is indeed arguable, becasue Jesus supposedly became the vessel for all the worlds entire sins- past, present, and future.

Problem: if we're forgiven, why is it conditional? Isn't that not really forgiveness at all? It is the same debt!! Furthermore, Christ would have to spend ETERNITY in Hades/Tartarus/the Lake of Fire (it really is so convoluted that there is no way to tell what direction is up) for it to even be considered a proper restitution.

And how can he be saving us from death if we'd still die spiritually? It's completely pagan theocratic psychobabble used by Xianity to control the masses. Too bad it works, and still does.

Finally it's unscriptural. John L Armstrong's Youtube videos are a thing of beauty, they show exactly what i'm talking about. And a nice couple of Jesus Timelines.

Original sin isn't in the new testament, or old. Easily discredited.

I love the laws in the NT that demand the following of the Old Testiment. There are more then one.

Matthew 5:17-20 KJV (from Jesus himself):
[b]17; Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.[/b] He is obviously fulfilling the law of the prophets and promotes the OT.
[b]18; For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fufilled.[/b] Not one letter shall pass until the proficies are fufilled
[b]19; Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.[/b] No heaven for the law breakers.
[b]20; For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.[/b] You have to be as rightous as the Pharisees to get into heaven. Yikes!

Luke 16:17 NAB
[b]It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid.[/b] All OT laws are binding forever.

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
[b]All scripture is given by inspiration of god, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.[/b]

2 Peter 1:20-21 KJV
[b]20; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.[/b]
[b]21; For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of god spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

An OT law used in Mark 7:10 & Matthew 15:4 KJV
[b]For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.[/b]

An OT law being used for the management of slaves in 1 Peter2:18 KJV
[b]Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.[/b]

I also like to bring up the contradicting creation stories in the FIRST & SECOND chapter of the book.

Genesis 1:24-27 KJV This says that man & woman was created simutaniously after the animals.

24; And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25; And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27; So God created man in his own image. In the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Upcoming contradiction!

Genesis 2:18-22 KJV This says that man was created first, then the animals, then the woman from man's rib.

18; And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone: I will make him an help meet for him.
19; And out of the ground the lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air: and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20; And Adam gave names to all cattle and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field: but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21; And the lord God caused a deep sleep to fall aupon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:
22; And the rib, which the lord God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man.

There you have it. Contradictions in the first 2 most important chapters. How can anyone take this seriously?

I pointed this one out to a Catholic, and she said that there was no contradiction... You can't argue with stupid.
