I believe mine is Ride the Lightning by Metallica. I can listen to this album over and over again. The first four songs have so many different change of paces.

Just listen to the intros:
Fight Fire with Fire: Acoustic, then fast riffing
Ride the Lightning: Bombastic dual guitars and drumming/bass combination
For Whom the Bell Tolls: Heavy slow riffing, and electric bass
Fade to Black: Acoustic with an opening electric solo
Among my first favorite albums as a child; Elton John's "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy," and Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life."

Now, there are simply too many to name. But at this immediate moment in time, I woke up this morning with about 4 Billy Squier songs racing through my head at once. So I'm seriously hoping there's a "Billy Squier's Greatest Hits that I can download into my MP3. Quick. Before I go insane.

;-)

I noticed the Floyd pick and wondered if you had heard Roger Waters "Amused to Death".(See my post)
Pennywise - Unknown Road
U2 - Under a Blood Red Sky
The Offspring - Ignition
Nightwish - Ocean Born
Rammstein - Live at Volkerball
AFI - Black Sails In The Sunset
Oooh ... Love Nightwish!
Probably too many to count, but excepting classical music:

  • Henry Mancini - "The Blues and The Beat"
  • The Beatles - "Abbey Road"
  • Oregon - "Northwest Passage" and "Prime"
  • Joni Mitchell - "Court and Spark," "Wild Things Run Fast," and "Night Ride Home"
  • Ricki Lee Jones - First Album
  • Crosby, Stills & Nash - First album and "Deja Vu"
  • The Green Mile - Soundtrack
  • Gladiator - Soundtrack

That's not even a complete list, but just what I can think of off the top ... but those SING to me ... all of 'em.
I love anything by Pink Floyd, but my favorite album is by a 1/4 of it. Roger Waters ,
"Amused to Death",especially the 2nd song "What God Wants , God Gets".
It's a concept album about aliens observing us and our fascination with war.The aliens observe that we now see war as a kind of "entertainment"on TV etc and that we are in danger of amusing ourselves to death.
