Extremely loud ads playing in background

In the "Latest Activity" feed at the far bottom right of the screen, some Yahoo video was posted that automatically starts playing on EVERY page I go to on A|N. The video was posted by user Napoleon Bonaparte and on many pages plays a long advertisement video first that cannot be stopped. Can the site be changed to not play videos automatically?

It disappeared right after I posted this, mysteriously. I don't mean to complain, this is the first time I've seen it happen, it just interrupts whatever I am listening to and took a min. to figure out.
