So much for intelligent political discussion.
That ex-governor (I can't bring myself to type her name) - once a supposedly serious candidate for vice president, if she had won (I know, she didn't) a potential thromboembolism away from the presidency, former political commentator for major network, known for her puritain christian religiosity and social conservatism.
She stands in front of cameras and audience at major conservative political conference.... and references her breasts and, by inference to phallic imagery, her husband's penis.
And of course, the conservative republican audience cheers.
What would Jesus say?
What would anyone say about the importance of at least some degree of adulthood in political discussion?
I wonder what would happen if her political adversary -ie, President Obama, made a speech with sexual innuendo / comparable imagery?

As an aside, there has to be a secular equivalent to her joke.
Let's see... how about:
"Nasa's got the new SLS rocket and the solar system's got the 7th planet from our sun?"
Permalink Reply by booklover on March 20, 2013 at 5:50pm I can't even stand to see Sarah Palin or to hear her shrill voice. She seriously makes my blood-pressure go up!
Permalink Reply by Joan Denoo on March 20, 2013 at 6:52pm I know I reveal how stupid I am, but what is the joke?
Permalink Reply by Sentient Biped on March 20, 2013 at 8:50pm "Rack" is slang for breasts. Mainly among boys and men who haven't grown up mentally. You have too much class to know the term. Taking the imagery one step further, when she's talking about her breasts in slang, referring to her husband's rife brings up phallic imagery - not subtle, and her audience is in on the joke. It also gives her "redneck credibility" for knowing the expression.
There's a country song - probably more than one - with this expression.
"She’s ten pounds of sugar in a five pound sack
A long straight away on a quarter mile track
She got a kiss that’ll hit you like a heart attack
I got the rifle she’s got the rack and
She cranks, she cranks, she cranks my tractor"
Permalink Reply by Loren Miller on March 20, 2013 at 9:37pm Sarah Palin wouldn't know how to crank an old phonograph, never mind a tractor.
