I would appreciate feed-back on this one. Though more friutful to pose on an UK site but anyway it is for all you political buffs out there.
Speaking as a British citizen for 31 years of my life I am horrified by the innordinate amount of Muslims invited to immigrate to the Uk with France in 2nd place. France has had colonial ties with Algeria but UK with Muslim counties especially so? U.K. immigration started in the 20th century after the dissolution of The Empire and the granting of passports to the Commonwealth mainly after WW2. By the 1960s there were racial tensions and the government set about a long campaign about political correctness that embaressed the average English person against being thought racist. ( I say English because the average Scot never allowed themselves to be inundated out of centuries of suspicion or rebellion centuries before.) This set the ground-work for the inordinate immigration from the 1990s mainly muslim
I can tell you because this started in the 80s that the British public were never consulted on this influx nor was it questioned in the press before it was to late. Heaven forbid voted upon. For example did anyone want the cockneys culturally ousted out of their East End homeland? A natural place for settlement as it's always been poor ( and they do it here) There is middle-class trend for the Mockney accent these days among Londoners no doubt an affectionate reaction against said inundation. ( I went back for 2yrs and see it in TV and interviews)
Admittedly immigrants have been flooding the capital since the 15th century but they ended up being assimulated. Being Christian helped but I fear there is a dead-lock of us-and-them throughout the country. Gangs of young Muslim men were reported to be running through major cities over-turning garbage bins in jubilation at 9/11. Saftey in numbers eh?
I had a fat -cat theory of my own that this has to be about money as it usually is. In my research I read a book claiming buisness interests in the E.U. were cutting deals with Muslim countries under the Euro-Arab Alliance in exchange for immigration. I also have a theory the E.U. was as much set up for fat-cat representatives being able to cut inside deals as a perk to the job rather than lets-play-happy -family in Europe which I am not sure truly works. Germany stayed out of it. France are enough cultural snobs to insist on integration or banish the Algerian over-flow to the suburbs of Paris. Other European counties coyly toy with it.
However I have my doubts about this book as I was told she had a sort of Jewish-Egyptian name ( by an American pro-islamist who has lived and travelled in Muslim countries-my ex-husband in fact )
I'm not racist but I am concerned with digestion. Not good to have "the enemy" living in their midst. I am concerned with reports that the average law-abiding Muslim is not nearly vocal enough as though the Fundamentalists may be a monster but it's OUR monster-one of our own nevertheless than plain terrorists. And the Muslims have bigger families and voting rights that will put pressure on the happy secularism of the UK. Itself tied to America as a mini-me. See the dangers of this when a Coptic Christian living in The States as a citizen makes The Innocence Of Muslims film and America/The West. gets blamed for it. I'm betting his hatred for Muslims stems from a paranoia with the Muslim Brotherhood recently elected to Egypt where the Coptics have been tolerated for centuries if only because they were there before Islam.
Feel free to criticise I'm not politically widely read....
