Just recently found a book at my local library titled "A Friendly Letter to Skeptics and Atheists" by a David Myers. Figuring I'd see what a liberal theist could present would be a nice change from the usual fundy lines, I checked it out. And what a mistake that was. It's exasperating to have the initial few chapters seem to establish common ground only to then have it be naught but a rug to be pulled out from under you. Not that it was entirely unexpected, but to be smacked with the cliche of equating vocal atheists with religious fundies after a lengthy self deprecating treatise on religious dogma? Disconcerting, to say the least. Any one else given this book a read, or tried digging into similarly deceptive titled apologist drivel?
