Christian Store Experiences

Anyone even been in any Christian bookstore or religious stores? If so what was your experience? I'll share mine. I went into a store called The Lighthouse. They sold and propagated Christian music, books and other goods. I saw a poster which was a parody of a Facebook wall. It was called "Faithbook" and there was a post from Charles Darwin to God which said something along the lines of "How could I have gotten it so wrong??". The store owner was staring at me as I laughed at this. I didnt try to hide my laughter either. Yet I found the experience unnerving and even creepy. Thoughts?

The churches around here smell like sickeningly sweet old lady perfume and musty old hymnals. On hot summer days, the smell really goes up a notch.

A bit of good news. The book store I mentioned in my earlier message is now out of business. I was at the mall were it used to be located and went by it on Saturday. Big sign saying that after 27 years, they were out of business - not a new location - but belly up. One down, thousands to go.

I accidentally walked into one once, not knowing what it was. What everyone says about "creepy" is right. The christian groups have a habit of stealing everything they can from popular culture, and co-opting it as their own. The "Faithbook" concept is just so strange....

The only c-based store I've been in, was a Hallmarks. But we do have a local one, in Grd Blanc, that just went under. :>)

Near where I live is a store that apparently sells Bibles, American and/or "Don't Tread On Me" flags, and guns. The large, hand-painted plywood storefront sign proclaims that these "tools o' freedom!" are available at "killer" prices to all who feel that a hostile invasion of aliens, atheists, Democrats, Islamists, Mexicans, or evolution-teachin' elitists is imminent. Talk about creeper vibes....and this is supposedly the Left Coast.

Book review of "Is God A Moral Monster"

This is one of the books you might have found in the christian book stores. A theist recommended the book to me, but this review really rips it up. Best of all, it's wrote by a christian and points out all the errors in the writers methods and thought processes.
