Linking to source material is good, but it would be much better if, in addition to linking, some description of what is being linked to is provided. It does aid in discussion.

It really is not that difficult to compose a summary, with quotes if so desired, followed by one's comments.

So, everyone that was ever slain in the name of god, those murders are cool? The crusades were cool? Witch burnings, honor killings, religious infighting, all that is cool?

Alright. I, as a human being, apologize to the world for these terrible misdeeds. I apologize for Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zetung, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, and I apologize for their murdering many many other human beings. It is a black stain upon humanity as a whole for these acts. I also apologize for the crusades, the inquisition, catholic child abuse, the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the stamping out of the north american indigenous peoples, the continued strangulation of 3rd world countries, the ongoing drug related violence in mexico, and cancer. I apologize on behalf of all humanity. These are awful acts, awful people, and I am ashamed to be as human as they were. We, as humans, should know better. We, as humans, know what kills other humans. And we abuse that knowledge. Again, I apologize for the fact that humans are humans, and will look for any excuse.

Somehow, I don't think that'll make them happy.

Based on how excited Bill Donahue gets when defending  his point of view it is entirely likely that soon his head will explode.  I can only hope I a watching when it does.
