Atheist Nexus

The World’s Largest Coalition of Nontheists and Nontheist Communities!

This may seem kind of random but an idea struck me today and I wanted to see what other people thought.

There's a blog called AfterEllen (http://www.afterellen.com/ if you want to see it) which is about "News, Reviews & Commentary on Lesbian and Bisexual Women in Entertainment and the Media." Their slogan is "Visibility Matters"

So today I had an idea about doing that, but instead of being about lesbian and bisexual women, it would be about atheists in entertainment and the media. In the same way that AfterEllen talks about high profile lesbians/bisexual women, and talks about how the media portrays lesbians and bisexual women, and how that portrayal effects the public's view of lesbians/bisexual women, this blog would be about high profile atheists, how the media portrays atheists, and how that portrayal effects the public's view of atheists. Because in both cases, visibility DOES matter.

Just something that popped into my head today. Anybody think this would be a good idea? Would anybody here be interested in putting something like that together?

Yes.
It would be interesting to see who in Entertainment has a brain.
I really like this idea. I was watching some Ricky Gervais yesterday and I realized that it is so fascinating to hear about things I actually care about coming from celebrities I possibly also enjoy. I admit there is a bit of a wow factor to hear famous people talk about things that I would cringe to express, to a worldwide audience.
OK, cool, anybody interested in putting something together? I'd do it myself but I think it would be easier with more than one person taking part. More people with ideas and stuff.
I have seen a list of famous Atheists on a website before. I will see if I can find it.
