I have been searching for such a book. Most of the time I get books for
- atheist parenting
- kids science books
- kids "critical thinking" books

None of these strike me as ideal for helping a 4-6 year old understand the choices life offers in terms of belief. I'm an atheist but my wife is active catholic. I am happy to see him see both side, but atheism lacks a "story" to understand and identify with.

I see the opportunity to distil atheism into nuggets that kids can relate to and make them decide for themselves which path to choose.

Ideas and example welcome.

I think this ( books ) and comic books are an untaped market for Atheists. I don't know exactly what you are looking for but at 4-6 years old I loved watching Star Trek the Original one and the Original Scooby Doo.

Star Trek had many adventures of planets peoples that had 'false gods'. If it was me I would watch it with my child and talk to him or her about this. Maybe you could find some Star Trek books like that too. My father would read to me paperbacks like that when I was a kid sometimes just a short bit at a time. I understood fine, I was 6 -7 at the time.

Scooby Doo the original the monster was always just a human noting supernatural. Not like the new ones.

Developing, "critical thinking" at an early age is a good start. I am going to guess and say that is how most of us came to become "Freethinkers".
At Richard Dawkins reading of his new book "The Greatest Show on Earth" he was asked by an audience member if he had any plans for a book aimed at kids. He menteiond that his next book he will be working on will be exactly that. He has not started on it yet and did not elaborate on whether it will focus on evolution or religion in general. By all account it will be evolution based as he has said that he has no immediate intention of publishing another book on religion.
Good news I think!

Good noew
