Anne Rice leaving Christianity

Almost a couple of years after we learned that Anne Rice left Christianity, here are a couple of update interviews where she talks about how she feels about organized religion and her reasons for leaving Christianity.

In her original coming out statement, she declared:

Today I quit being a Christian.  I'm out ... in the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay.  I refuse to be anti-feminist.  I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control.  I refuse to be anti-democrat.  I refuse to be anti-secular humanism.   I refuse to be anti-science.  I refuse to be anti-life.  In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being a Christian, Amen.

She's just playing word games, …and still a theist who believes in Jesus. She just doesn't like his other followers.

Oh. Too bad.  For some reason her loving jesus but not his other followers reminds me of the bumper-sticker "Jesus loves you.  Everyone else hates your guts". :)

Hey, maybe someone should start a thread on religious vs atheist bumper stickers- I like "Jesus is coming-look busy" I also like the attempts at one-upsmanship regarding the Christian fish symbol, where first you have the Christian fish on a sticker, then some atheist came up with the fish growing legs with "Darwin" printed across the fish body, then the Christians responded with the giant Jesus fish eating the Darwin fish with the words "Truth" printed across it's body, then-no response yet, as far as I can tell from the atheists-come on folks, you can't let them get the last word in-you look like quitters. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread, but the comment just got me going.
