Ann's work has concentrated on the international financial architecture, the sovereign debts of the poorest countries, and the rise in debt in OECD economies. She is known for her leadership of Jubilee 2000, placing the debts of the poorest countries on the global political agenda, and bringing about radical policy changes at national and international levels. She predicted an Anglo-American debt-deflationary crisis back in 2003, and in 2006 published 'The coming first world debt crisis".

Ann is co-author of the Green New Deal and also a fellow of the New Economics Foundation and Director of Advocacy International Ltd and economic think tank Policy Research in Macro Economics.
