“Andrew Breitbart was the most innovative pioneer in conservative activist social media in America,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tweeted. “He had great courage and creativity.”
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum said that Breitbart’s death was “shocking” and that Breitbart was a “powerful force” who was “constantly driving and pushing” on behalf of conservatives, and was a “huge loss for the country and the conservative movement.”
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whom Breitbart fiercely defended against the unfair onslaught of the mainstream media against her, wrote about how conservatives would “continue the fight” in Breitbart’s absence.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and his wife Ann said they were “deeply saddened by the unexpected loss and we send our prayers and condolences to his family and friends.”
Influential conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh spoke movingly about how Breitbart was a guest at his last wedding and how Breitbart sent Limbaugh a painting of Ronald Reagan and American flags. Limbaugh said Breitbart was “constantly on-the-go” and was a “grateful guy and very thoughtful.”

Maybe their 'god' planned for this guy to drop-dead. Everything happens for a 'reason' (like a planned reason by a higher power), right? ;)
I even wonder if perhaps there WAS a god after all.
Yeah I heard about this on the radio. Some of the talk show hosts are saying that it wasn't natural causes or something like that.
I know the trend in secular humanist circles is to be as kind, gentle, nice, &c. as one can be, both to set an example of how "good" we are, and to support the proposition that all of us humans are hard-wired to be concerned, caring, and compassionate toward our fellow man, but if I could come up with one word to describe this formerly alive s.o.b. it is: He was a shit!
I know James. I feel bad for his kids, etc. because they lost someone they love, but for me personally, I'm not sorry someone like him isn't spewing his nasty words anymore.
and now the world is a better place.
when Hitchens died, there was a great deal of compassion from his fans and opponents alike. obviously, this is not the case here. there's something to be said for "class".
Hitchens didn't spout horrible things, and no one here is putting they are glad he's dead in places his family will see unless they are members here. Truth is, sometimes people don't really care if some jerk is dead or not but they don't go around shouting it to the world. Thanks 4 your lecture. :p
i think you misunderstood me. i was saying that Hitchens had class, which is why he was equally well regarded by his fans and opponents. Breitbart was an idiot and i for one could care less that he is no longer alive.
I caught your meaning...
Hitch was honest, …as blatantly honest as they come, Breitbart was a lot of things, none of those things had a shred of honesty attached.
Glad he's dead, …maybe not, …glad he's played his last scam?
i suppose my wording was a bit sloppy. i hope i cleared that up, Melinda. i'm definitely one to lecture.
Please accept my apologies Matthew, I totally misunderstood you. I didn't think you sounded like someone who would lecture others on here! Again, I apologize. ~ Melinda
fully accepted. if i ever sound like an arrogant asshole please assume someone has hijacked my AN account!
