...yeeeeeah. Minority? I don't think that word means what you think it does, Pat.

Permalink Reply by Mordekhai ben-Yosef on September 11, 2012 at 7:34pm People must be learn to agree on the meanings of words. Otherwise there is no communication. Just a shouted dialogue of the deaf.
If only there were a mutually agreed upon reference of some kind. <Sigh!>
Permalink Reply by James M. Martin on September 11, 2012 at 7:39pm Communication is only possible among equals.
Permalink Reply by Mordekhai ben-Yosef on September 11, 2012 at 8:04pm I dunno. Plenty of Canine-Americans communicate with me and clearly, I'm not their equal.

Permalink Reply by Kacie Tsao on September 11, 2012 at 8:01pm Pat Robertson who? Oh, the Pat Robertson who advocates wife beating! Yes, let's all listen to what this wise man has to say. Evangelical Christians, if you feel oppressed, take Pat Robertson's advice and move to Saudi Arabia.
Permalink Reply by Loren Miller on September 11, 2012 at 8:20pm The above statement is blown so outrageously out of proportion that I don't know whether to laugh or cry about it.
Tell me, Pat: have we had a christian Kristallnacht yet? Have christians been forced to wear yellow crosses on their clothes or been denied the right to own or run their own businesses? Are they being herded into ghettos or camps?
You know as well as I do that the answer to all of the above is a screamingly obvious NO. Yet because you cannot have your unimpeded way with the government, because it won't knee-jerk echo your values or cave when you make your demands, you act like the spoiled brat that you are and run your mouth in ridiculous hyperbole about how you are SO persecuted.
I'd tell you to grow up, but that would be expecting you to change, and it is self-evident that you are determined not to ... so how about this:
Just. Go. Away ... Please.

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day. however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more. in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).
THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
