Many religions are based around this "reward" of eternal life, where everything is "perfect".

It's a curious concept, to live for eternity. People are afraid to die, and simply cannot understand death. To have eternal life after death, a person must have a soul, but to receive this "reward", it must be given by someone or something. Thus generating something larger than us or a higher power. Using this "higher power" means it is capable of anything, even a very simple explanation of creation of man.

So my question is, does anyone here believe in life after death, or the concept of "souls"?

Clearly I do not, we are mere biological machines, chemical reactions control us. Just like any other biological being on this planet. (animals, plants, microorganisms, etc.)

The human spirit magnetized to thoughts of hopefully keeping on living.
I don't know if there is an afterlife. I am not going to rule it out, because i don't know any talking dead people who can tell me all about it. Of course, if there were talking dead people, they would be zombies only interested in eating my brain and turning me into a zombie. ;o) For some reason, people just don't get into any good conversations with zombies. :oD

I certainly don't believe in a heaven or a hell. Actually, I don't spend a whole lot more time worrying about the whole afterlife thing than i do brain eating zombies. If there is an afterlife, there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. And I have always wondered why only people get an afterlife? Why not elephants? Or whales? Or spiders? or snakes? Snakes are useful creatures. They eat rats and I hate rats. Funny, I have never heard anyone say, you die and go to heaven, there'll be snakes so watch where you step.
