In this case, I think I would saddle up both the Freedom From Religion Foundation AND the ACLU.  This doesn't just impact the teacher's rights but those students who wrote the indicated pieces as well.  The Lenoir Bord of Education may very well have stepped in it big-time here.

One has to seriously wonder about that school board and school administration. Here's a simple proposition I'm sure these theocratic fascists never thought of.

How do you teach a student to become a good citizen, and respect the laws and social order of society, by setting the example of adults in an elected position intentionally breaking the law?

Helluva civics lesson, eh?
