Yep. There is such a thing. Or at least in Minnesota, California, Michigan, Smoky Mountains and last but not least, Ohio.
The camp is called "Camp Quest" I heard something about one in canada. For anyone who lives in Canada, is that true?
I'm also curious if there is something like this in Europe. Anyone know?
P.S. heres Camp Quest on the Colbert report.

Indeed. I went to the camp for 4 years before I became counselor. Not gonna lie. I prefer it to Boy Scouts and their definition of camping.

No more Johny apple seed. hahah.
WAY down yonder not so very far off,
A Jaybird died of the WHOOP-ing cough.
He WHOOPED so hard from the WHOOP-ing cough
That he WHOOPED his head and his tail right off!

Same song, second verse,
A little bit louder and a little bit worse...

da capo ad nauseum!
Hear, hear; NO doubt; No Shit, Sherlock; etc, re: "Blackbird"...!

Seriously ... that was a song we sang (more like SHOUTED!) back in Y camp some 45 years ago....
Kumbaya my Flying Spaghetti Monster, Kumbaya
Kumbaya my Flying Spaghetti Monster, Kumbaya
Kumbaya my Flying Spaghetti Monster, Kumbaya
O Flying Spaghetti Monster, Kumbaya

Technically, isn't any camp that doesn't talk about God an atheist camp?
Heh. That's the problem with all these spoof deities... too many syllables.
I wish there was a Camp Quest for adults. I never got to attend camp when I was a kid.
Nor did I...But our family camped a lot with kin sometimes,so that was fun.
The Smokey Mountains were the best.
Good video..I was afraid it had already been removed and I'd miss it.

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…
