Well, I'll be the first one to post it here as I have some knowledge in PR and marketing.

1. Get Cafepress shop with gear.
2. Contact major atheist organizations to get their support and get on their newsletter.
3. Promotional video for YouTube and other video sharing websites.
Awesome V1ktor! You rock! Thank you.
V1ktor, you are reading my mind. The cafepress thing will be on the way soon (I hope). And we are already having a few organizations contacting us, but it would be great to have a team to go after them. I saw that someone posted a video on youtube about the site. I would like to promote that idea and maybe feature them somewhere.

The wiki thing sound great too. I was thinking about having something like Google Calendar or Google sites to list info and lists. Whatever we choose, we need different levels and some of it limited to certain people. For example, I would like somewhere where moderators could log in and see notes about certain people, and a place where programmers could check out progress and delegations.

Let Stephanie know what you think.

Richard
Sounds like you would benefit from either Wiki site or Project Management site (ex: dotProject).

I don't know what sort of hosting you have for AN, but I can offer hosting Wiki or dotProject, and a bunch of other stuff if needed.

I would offer a lot more participation but I'm working on a new project, and need to get it off the ground. It takes up most of my time.

Back to promotional, what if we implement some sort of "dating" features for those who would like to find atheist partners? If possible.

v1ktor
Thank you again V1ktor, your insight is very valuable. I think Wiki and dotProject are good ideas.

As far as the dating thing goes, I have no idea, maybe you should bring it up over at Get Satisfaction.

Also, have you seen the discussion about hooking up, some of it is funny but it kind of addresses this and would give an idea as to whether or not that kind of thing would be any good here.

Anyway, I'll let you know something soon about your offer to help, thank you again.
I for one am all for trying to have a dating site attached to this. Anyone know how to do it?
Depending on what platform you used for AN, there might be some plugins to might offer it such features.

Also, it could be as simple as adding another field to a profile asking members if they are interested in finding relationships here (dating), and then included it in search so other can find members interested in dating.

I've created a group called "Bling Bling" for people with Cafepress / Zaggle / etc pages selling Atheist stuff. When you get yours running please add your link to the group. Let's help the members of this community find other members' creative merchandise.
Thank you Kurt.
=) It just came to me.

Why not have some sort of Wiki for volunteers. This would help coordinate work more effectively. Talking from experience.

v1k
A wiki is generally for documentation and encyclopaedic articles so I can't visualize how it would be useful to volunteers unless you are talking about populating with instructions for moderation and the like.

What exactly do you have in mind?
Documentation plus we can have pages for tasks and projects that volunteers can edit to update progress, completion and stuff like that.

I saw skill exchange group, we could use a wiki page with volunteers listed with their skills.

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
