Event Description

The Maryland-DC (MDC) chapter or WASH (Washington Area Secular Humanists) is hosting a free panel discussion on the Topic of: "What would Paul Kurtz say?”

Our distinguished Panel: Margeret Downey, (founder and president of the Freethought Society),  Edd Doerr (President at Americans for Religious Liberty), Stuart Jordan (President of the Institute for Science and Human Values,<ISHV>, and Nathan Bupp )( ISHV Communications Director).

In a long and extraordinary career as a public intellectual, Paul Kurtz has distinguished himself as a major contributor to secular humanism, critical thinking, ethics, skepticism and American philosophy. Kurtz’s noble life, as well as, numerous, seminal writings about these topics are worth reflecting on.  To this end a panel of people who know him well will be on hand to discuss this and his effects to build a constructive secular alternative to religion.

The meeting is open to all and all are welcome, but to accommodate the room and keep track  of who plans on coming you can register on the site listed below to help our planning of yummy refreshments and space.

Wheaton is convenient to the DC area and on the Metro.
