 er on Sunday October 4, 2009 at the Duluth Radisson Hotel.\n\nDan Bark
 er is an international speaker and prominent atheist activist who left
  Christianity in 1984 after 19 years as an evangelical preacher. He is
  the current co-president with his wife Annie Laurie Gaylor of the Fre
 edom from Religion Foundation (FFRF, http://www.ffrf.org). Ms. Laurie 
 Gaylor will also attend the event. The FFRF is an American freethought
  organization that promotes the separation of church and state. It is 
 the largest freethought association in North American. Mr. Barker, a c
 omposer and musician, is also the author of Losing Faith in Faith: Fro
 m Preacher to Atheist, and Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Become
  One of America’s Leading Atheists, and has written numerous article
 s for Freethought Today, America's only freethought newspaper.\n\nMr. 
 Barker will describe the intellectual and psychological path he follow
 ed in moving from fundamentalism to freethought. “There is joy in ra
